German Tank ‘Jagdpanther’ L.V.

WWII saw numerous German tank destroyers come onto the scene, many of them a combination of existing tank chassis with a dedicated fighting compartment added; the Jagdpanther was perhaps the most successful design. It was based upon the Panther tank, and fitted with a sloped fighting compartment with 88mm gun. Manufactured from January 1944, its superb mobility and survivability made it a foe to be wary of for Allied forces after its introduction following the Normandy landings. Late version vehicles had alterations such as a larger gun shield and were deployed until the end of hostilities.
